Hit Broadway and West End musical CHICAGO is heading out again on a major UK tour.

ATG venues Milton Keynes Theatre, Palace Theatre Manchester and Regent Theatre Stoke-on-Trent are now on pre-sale with the show, with general sale from tomorrow, Tuesday 20 February.

The tour will play Milton Keynes Theatre on 12 to 19 October 2024, the Palace Theatre from 4 to 9 November 2024, and Stoke-on-Trent’s Regent Theatre from 25 to 30 November 2024. See further venues and dates, below, with more dates to be added.

Winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy, Chicago is the longest running American musical in Broadway and West End history. The show is also still going strong on Broadway: in January of last year, the Broadway production broke box-office records achieving its biggest weekly gross at Ne York’s Ambassador Theatre in its 26-year history.

Chicago is written by musical theatre legends John Kander and Fred Ebb, who created hit shows including Cabaret, and the show’s original choreography was by multi-award winner Bob Fosse, and recreated for this production by Ann Reinking.

The show was last on tour in 2022 starring Lee Mead as Billy Flynn, Faye Brookes as Roxie Hart, Djalenga Scott as Velma Kelly, Jamie Baughan as Amos Hart and B.E Wong as Mary Sunshine. Gemma Collins was scheduled to play Mama Morton, although had to withdraw from the production, with Brenda Edwards taking her place to play the infamous jailer.

Chicago is set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of 1920s New York, and is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids.

The show-stopping score includes “Razzle Dazzle”, “Cell Block Tango”, and “All That Jazz”.
