West End producers Cameron Mackintosh, Nica Burns, Kenny Wax and Jamie Wilson attended the launch of new Soho venue Underbelly Boulevard last night.
Formerly named the Boulevard Theatre, the venue is now operated by Olivier award winning live entertainment producer Underbelly and is their first permanent site.
Underbelly is known for their work on the Edinburgh Fringe and more recently including the multi award winning Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, La Clique Live in Leicester Square, Austentatious at The Fortune Theatre, Five Guys Named Moe at the Marble Arch Theatre and the forthcoming production of Macbeth starring Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma.
Underbelly Boulevards is a brand-new home for the hottest theatre, cabaret, variety and music, comprising of a 200-capacity performance venue, a rehearsal room for hire, daytime hire for events, readings and workshops, a bar and a 100-cover restaurant.
The first show at the Underbelly Boulevard is Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett, an evening of cabaret, circus, music and more hosted by Bernie herself.
Also in attendance last night were a host actors and celebrities including Dominic West, Janie Dee, Joanna Riding, Madeline Brewer, Elliot Levey, Lisa Sadovy, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Lolita Chakrabati, and Rob Madge.
