The Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2023 nominations are out!
A wealth of West End shows and talent are honoured in this year’s Evening Standard Theatre Awards, with the winners announced on 19 November.
Musicals up for awards include Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard at the Savoy Theatre, with its star Nicole Scherzinger and director Jamie Lloyd both nominated for awards; Nicholas Hytner’s joyous revival of Guys & Dolls at the Bridge Theatre is nominated for an impressive five awards, including Best Musical, and best musical performance for Marisha Wallace; Charlie Stemp gets a nomination for his star turn into five-star hit Crazy For You at the Gillian Lynne Theatre; and the National Theatre’s production of Standing at the Sky’s Edge is nominated.
In terms of plays, nominations include James Graham’s mega-hit Dear England at the Prince Edward Theatre; Jack Thorne’s The Motive and the Cue at the Noel Coward Theatre; Anoushka Lucas’ acclaimed debut play, Elephant, coming to the Bush Theatre; and the RSC’s production of My Neighbour Totoro at the Barbican.
