Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in Coronation Street, is set to tread the boards next year as Mother Superior in Sister Act The Musical.
Sue will appear in the show from 14 March 2024, starting in Brighton, and visiting Manchester, Cork, Belfast, Glasgow and York, before ending in Birmingham in May 2024.
The cast also includes Landi Oshinowo as Deloris Van Cartier, Alfie Parker as Eddie Souther and Ian Gareth-Jones as Curtis Jackson, plus Isabel Canning, Julie Stark, Phillip Arran, Wendy-Lee Purdy, Callum Martin, Esme Laudat, Amber Kennedy, Joseph Connor, Ceris Hine, Eloise Runnette, and Sheri Lineham.
Lesley Joseph is also playing Mother Superior at select dates on the rest of the tour, plus she’s playing Sister Mary Lazarus in Manchester.
Sue Cleaver recently appeared on the 22nd series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!, and her other TV credits include City Central (BBC), Dinnerladies (BBC), This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper (Granada Television), Peak Practice (Central Independent Television), Casualty (BBC), Reckless: The Sequel (Granada Television), The Cops (BBC), King Girl (BBC), Band of Gold (Granada Television), and A Touch of Frost (ITV). Her film credits include The Man Who Cried and Girls Night.

Based on the iconic smash-hit film starring Whoopi Goldberg, Sister Act features music by Tony and 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Disney’s Aladdin, Enchanted), with lyrics by Glenn Slater, a book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner and additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane. The show is directed by Bill Buckhurst.
Sister Act is also coming back to the West End next year, with Beverley Knight and Alexandra Burke both playing stints as Deloris at the Dominion Theatre from 15 March to 31 August 2024.
