NUTCRACKER, the latest project from Drewe McOnie, is now on sale for Christmas 2023.
Promising to be wild-spirited, mischievous and a lot of fun, Olivier Award-winning choreographer Drewe McOnie is completely reinventing Tchaikovsky’s classic Nutcracker.
Together with Mercury Prize-nominated jazz artist Cassie Kinoshi, Nutcracker features premier dancers of The McOnie Company performing to Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score, reimagined for a live onstage jazz band.
A brand new venue has been created at the Southbank Centre to host the show, with The Tuff Nutt Jazz Club designed by Olivier Award winning set and costume designer Soutra Gilmour to put audiences at the centre of the action at one of the coolest jazz clubs in town.
Familiar melodies reinterpreted by a swinging jazz band fill the air, as dancers move in and among the cabaret-style seating to bring the storytelling and wild-spirited adventure of Nutcracker to life.
The cast for Nutcracker includes Amonik Melaco, Sam Salter and Patricia Zhou with Chanelle Anthony, Christie Crosson, Tim Hodges, Lukas Hunt and Rachel Muldoon.

Nutcracker runs from 28 October 2023 to 6 January 2024 at the Southbank Centre.
