Pretty Woman The Musical

Pretty Woman The Musical moves to Savoy Theatre from July

Pretty Woman: The Musical will open at the Savoy Theatre when it resumes performances in London this July, it has been announced.

Aimie Atkinson (Six The Musical, In The Heights) and Strictly Come Dancing favourite Danny Mac (White Christmas, Sunset Bouelvard) will headline the production, having originated the roles of Vivian and Edward at the Piccadilly Theatre in 2020.

Based on the much loved film starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, the story centres on a call girl and a hard-nosed business man, who despite their different circumstances and backgrounds, fall in love.

The show had just opened to rave reviews when covid derailed its year long residency at the Piccadilly, so its great news it has found a new home at the majestic Savoy Theatre.

On behalf of all the producers, Paula Wagner said today “Our London production of Pretty Woman: The Musical had just opened when the world changed and our cherished theatres were forced to close due to the pandemic. When we opened in the West End a year ago we had broken advance box-office records at the Piccadilly and were playing to sold out houses. With so many ticket holders eager to see this show about love and resilience, we knew we would bring back Pretty Woman when the time was safe and right. With the move to our new home, the Savoy Theatre, we are able to return to share our joy with many more people. We look forward to everyone being together soon and giving our audiences the chance to come and enjoy the ultimate fun night out we all deserve right now.”

Directed and choreographed by musical supremo Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Hairspray, Legally Blonde) the smash-hit musical features music and lyrics by American singer-songwriter Bryan Adams and his writing partner Jim Vallance and a book by Garry Marshall and J.F. Lawton.

Aimie Atkinson and Danny Mac are joined by Rachael Wooding as ‘Kit De Luca’, Bob Harms as ‘Happy Man/Mr Thompson’, Neil McDermott as ‘Philip Stuckey’ and Mark Holden as ‘James Morse’. Further casting to be announced.

Pretty Woman makes way for the highly anticipated Broadway hit Moulin Rouge! The Musical which is due to open later this year at the Piccadilly Theatre.

Customers who have already booked to see the show will be contacted directly by their point of sale about their existing booking and do not need to contact the Box Office directly themselves.

Exclusive priority pre-sale tickets for Pretty Woman: The Musical are available to book on WestEndTheatre.com from 10am 24 March 2021.

Pretty Woman: The Musical is booking from 8 July 2021 until 12 December 2021 at the Savoy Theatre, London.
