Witness for the Prosecution to resume performances in May 2021

Witness for the Prosecution will resume performances at London’s County Hall from 18 May 2021 provided capacity restrictions are lifted by the UK Government.

Agatha Christie’s gripping legal drama features more twists and turns than a corkscrew, as prosecution battles defence inside the spectacular courtroom setting inside the iconic London County Hall.  Prior to lockdown, director Lucy Bailey’s (Switzerland, Love From A Stranger, The Graduate) production was entering its third year at the site specific venue where it has was nominated for Best Revival at the 2018 Olivier Awards and had performed over 1000 shows.

Producers Eleanor Lloyd and Rebecca Stafford said ‘We cannot wait to bring ‘Witness for the Prosecution’ back to the magnificent setting of London County Hall and share Agatha Christie’s courtroom spectacle with audiences once again. When the theatres were closed last March we had just celebrated our 1000th performance having played to over 325,000 people over two and a half years. Last year was tough for everyone in the theatre industry.”

They added “In order to be able to re-open as soon as we can, we are making this announcement now on the assumption that by our first performance government audience restrictions will be lifted and that contingency insurance will be available, either from the insurance market, or from a stop-gap government backed scheme.”

This major revival thrillingly puts the audience in the thick of the action giving theatre-goers a unique immersive experience to Agatha Christie’s court room thriller.

Casting for the production will be announced in due course.
