Fresh from his turn in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, former EastEnder Shane Ritchie will return to the West End production of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
Ritchie reprises his head turning role as Hugo/Loco Chanelle from 5 January 2021, having previously played the role at the Apollo Theatre in London’s West End in 2019 and on the UK tour.
Richie said ‘I can’t wait to swap my castle walking boots for a pair of high heels and return to Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. After 2020 we could all do with little bit of glitter in the grey and having been with Jamie both in the West End and on UK Tour it’s going to be a fabulous way to start the New Year’.
Best known for playing Alfie Moon on EastEnders, Ritchie’s stage appearances include Joe Orton’s The Entertainer, One Flew over The Cuckoo’s Nest, musicals Grease, Boogie Nights, Scrooge: The Musical and numerous pantos.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is one of the first musicals to return to performances in the West End following the government mandated shutdown in 2021. The show’s script and production will be adapted to suit Covid-compliancy rules for an initial run of six months, according to reports.
Also appearing in the cast will be Noah Thomas, Melissa Jacques, Sejal Keshwala, Hiba Elchikhe and Gillian Ford.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is booking until 21 March 2021 at the Apollo Theatre, London.
