Former EastEnders actor Jacqueline Jossa and Busted bassist and vocalist Matt Jay-Willis will appear in the West End musical concert of A Christmas Carol at London’s Dominion Theatre this December.
Jossa will make her West End debut in the role of Emily with Jay-Willis cast at Bob Cratchit.
The starry West End cast will also feature Sandra Marvin – best known for tv series Emmerdale but whose extensive theatre credits include Show Boat, Waitress, Hairspray – as Mrs Fezziwig; Lucie Jones (Waitress, X-Factor) as The Ghost of Christmas Past; Cedric Neal (Jesus Christ Superstar, Songs for a New World, Motown, Back to the Future) as the Ghost of Christmas Present; and the previously announced Brian Conley as Scrooge.
The main cast is completed by Jeremy Secomb as Jacob Marley, Martyn Ellis as Mr Fezziwig, Rebecca Lock as Mrs Cratchit and Sam Oladeinde will be Fred Anderson/Young Scrooge.
Written by Alan Menken (Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast), Lynn Ahrens (Anastasia, Ragtime) and Mike Ockrent (Me and My Girl, Crazy for You), Dickens much loved tale follows cold hearted Scrooge as he is taken on a magical journey by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future in an attempt to mend his ways.
The socially distanced production will feature a cast of over 50 performers on stage including the 24-piece London Musical Theatre Orchestra.
Covid safety measures and social distancing will be in place front of house, on stage, backstage and throughout the barn-like Dominion Theatre.
The production will have a limited run at the Dominion Theatre over Christmas and New Year, with The Prince of Egypt then set to return.
A Christmas Carol will run from 7 December until 2 January 2020 at the Dominion Theatre, London.
