West End musicals to perform on Britain’s Got Talent 2020 finale

The 2020 finale of ITV series Britain’s Got Talent will features a spectacular performance from the West End casts of Les Miserables, Mary Poppins and The Phantom of The Opera.

Following the recent ratings-hit performance of Hairspray on BGT, sixty West End performers including Michael BallMatt LucasCarrie Hope FletcherJohn Owen-JonesShan Ako, Killian DonnellyZizi Strallen and Charlie Stemp will come together to conjure up the dazzling lights of the West End in a one-off performance this Saturday.

Coinciding with Les Misérables 35th birthday and The Phantom of the Opera’s 34th birthday, the performance aims to showcase Britain’s world class theatrical talent following the seven-month enforced shutdown.

Cameron Mackintosh, who producers all three shows said “Britain’s theatrical talent is the best in the world so it is a wonderful opportunity to be invited by Britain’s Got Talent to showcase three of my greatest British musical hits” he added the ‘fabulous West End casts [are] all bursting to perform again and remind audiences what an unforgettable thrill it is to enjoy the exhilaration of a live show”.  

Airing this Saturday, at 19:30 on ITV, viewers will witness a show of epic proportions including performances from ten finalists.

Already through are variety act Steve Royle; dancing duo, Aaron and Jasmine; magician, Magical Bones; comedy singer and performer, Jon Courtenay; and stand-up comedian, Nabil Abdulrashid. The remaining public vote acts will be revealed on Saturday with all ten acts pre-recording their performances the night before for safety reasons.

All cast and crew members have been tested regularly throughout preparations for this performance following strict health and safety measures and Government guidelines to enable this epic West End Theatre finale to happen.
