The West End revival of Hairspray The Musical starring Michael Ball has announced rescheduled dates for its 2020 run at the London Coliseum.
The musical had been due to begin performances later this month but due to the industry wide shutdown a decision was made to push the opening to 1 September 2020.
Adam Spiegel, the Co-Producer of Hairspray, said:
“We are pleased that, with the support of everyone at the London Coliseum, we are able today to announce rescheduled dates for Hairspray. I would also like to thank everyone who has worked to ensure the season is able to take place later in the year, and when we are able to do so, we look forward to welcoming audiences and bringing people together again in a way only the theatre can”.
Cast that have confirmed the re-scheduled dates include Michael Ball dragging up as Edna Turnblad, Paul Merton who makes his West End musical debut as Edna’s husband, Wilbur, Eastenders’ Roxy Mitchell actress Rita Simons playing Velma Von Tussle and West End favourite Marisha Wallace (Waitress, Dreamgirls) playing Motormouth.
Until Monday 4 May 2020, all existing ticket holders have priority to move their tickets to a new date. All new ticket purchases can be made from Tuesday 5 May 2020.
Hairspray The Musical is booking from 1 September 2020 until 8 November 2020 at the London Coliseum.
