Theatre’s might have gone dark but actors and actresses the world over are taking to social media to spread a little cheer in these uncertain times. Next up on our Let Them Entertain You series is Hugh Jackman
One of Australia’s greatest exports Hugh Jackman started out in theatre but achieved world wide fame for his 18-year portrayal of Wolverine in the X-Men film franchise.
In recent years he has continued his love-affair with musical theatre by starring in the film adaptation of Les Miserables and The Greatest Showman.
On the back of the world-wide success of these musical films last year he played to sell-out venues in his world-wide tourThe Man. The Music. The Show performing songs from the films as well as his favourite theatre songs.
Jackman’s live musical theatre roles include his Tony-winning performance in Peter Allen musical The Boy from Oz, Olivier nominated performance in Oklahoma! at London’s National Theatre and leading roles in Sunset Boulevard and Beauty and the Beast in his native Australia.
Hugh is a huge fan of social media, whether it’s knocking out a tune, saying hi to fans or indulging in his light hearted competitive streak with fellow action hero Ryan Reynolds.
No matter where you are in the world please stay home and, if you go out, practice proper social distancing. Thanks to all first responders, doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, truck drivers, etc all who take away from your own family to care for others. You’re the real heroes. pic.twitter.com/xKqpzon8FD

At first I thought – Ugh, now I actually have to apologize. But then … @VancityReynolds pic.twitter.com/uBAOiLCPfx
