Kate Fleetwood to play Cruella De Vil in ‘101 Dalmatians’ at Regents Park Open Air Theatre

Kate Fleetwood has been announced to play arch villainess Cruella De Vil in Timothy Sheader’s production of 101 Dalmatians at Regents Park this Summer.

Fleetwood’s numerous stage credits include her Olivier nominated performance in London Road, Absolute Hell, King Lear and Ugly Lies the Bone, all at the National Theatre; Medea (Almeida) and her Tony nominated performance as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth.

TV viewers may have seen her in VictoriaWar and PeaceThe People Next Door and The Widower, with upcoming roles in Brave New World and Fate: The Winx Club Saga, to be aired soon on Peacock and Netflix respectively. 

101 Dalmatians is a musical stage adaptation of Dodie Smith’s original story, with a book by Zinnie Harris and music and lyrics by Douglas Hodge.

The classic tale follows the villainess Cruella De Vil, a high class fashionista who steals puppies for their fur, and a group of dogs set on finding their lost puppies.

The creative team includes set and costume design by Katrina Lindsay, choreography by Liam Steel, puppet design/direction by Toby Olié, orchestrations by Sarah Travis, lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design by Nick Lidster, and musical direction by Tarek Merchant.

101 Dalmatians will run from 16 May 2020 until 21 June 2020 at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, London.

The 2020 Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre season also includes productions of Romeo and Juliet, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel and Dragons and Mythical Beasts.
