Alice Fearn, Emma Hatton, Dean John Wilson and Wendi Peters will feature in a workshop production of ‘Footballers Wives – The Musical‘ this week in London.
Producers have cast a host of leading West End performers for a workshop presentation of this new musical comedy which is based on the British tv series from early 2000.
The cast for the London showcase features Simon Bailey (The Phantom of the Opera), Natasha J. Barnes (Funny Girl), Norman Bowman (42nd Street, Guys and Dolls), Liam Doyle (Ghost, Wicked, Legally Blonde), Alice Fearn (Elphaba in Wicked, Oliver!’, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Emma Hatton (Evita, Elphaba in Wicked), Emmanuel Kojo (ShowBoat, Girl from the North Country), Wendi Peters (Big the Musical, White Christmas, Coronation Street) and Dean John Wilson (Disney’s Aladdin, The King and I).
Written by Maureen Chadwick, co-creator of the original TV series, and music & lyrics by Kath Gotts (also co-creators of ‘Bad Girls – The Musical’), ‘Footballers’ Wives – The Musical’ is based around the first TV series, and follows the fall and rise of super-bitch Tanya Turner – captain’s wife and old school femme fatale – as she struggles to keep her marriage afloat to footballer and lothario, Jason Turner, amidst groupies, meddling club chairmen, deception, betrayal and murder.
A short extract from ‘Footballers’ Wives – The Musical’ was first presented at BEAM2018.
