TV star David Hasselhoff is set to join the London stage production of 9 to 5 The Musical.

The Baywatch and Knight Rider star will tumble outta’ bed and stumble to the West End for the first time in 15 years, playing Franklin Hart Jr – the sexist and egotistical boss in Dolly Parton’s smash-hit musical comedy.

Hasselhoff said today ‘I went to see the show back in June and I thought it was ‘Hofftastic’.  That’s when I knew I wanted to be part of it. Franklin Hart Jnr. is going to be a fun part for me to play and I’m looking forward to being back on stage in the UK’.

The former Britain’s Got Talent judge and pop-singer recently completed a European tour of his latest album Open Your Eyes which coincided with the 30 year anniversary of the Berlin Wall.  Hasselhoff’s theatre credits include Roger De Bris in The Producers , Billy Flynn in Chicago and the musical Jekyll & Hyde.

David Hasselhoff will join the cast of 9 to 5 The Musical from 2 December 2019 until 8 February 2020. 

The musical comedy tells the story of three female work colleagues who decide to take revenge on their sexist boss and make a few work related changes at the same time.  The show is written by Patricia Resnick, the screenwriter for the film, and music and lyrics by the Queen of Country music, Dolly Parton.

9 to 5 The Musical is booking until 23 May 2020 at the Savoy Theatre, London.
