‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ returns to West End in 2020

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will return to London Palladium in Summer 2020.

Following a smash-hit sell-out success in 2019, Laurence Connor’s production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical will return for a limited 10-week season from 2 July 2019.

Casting has yet to be confirmed, however it is rumoured Jac Yarrow, the break-out star of the 2019 production, is in negotiations to reprise his role as Joseph. It is not yet known if Sheridan Smith or Jason Donovan will reprise their roles as the narrator and the Pharaoh.

Joseph is based on the story of the coat of many colours from the Bible’s Book of Genesis and features numbers such as “Close Every Door”, “Benjamin Calypso” and “Any Dream Will Do”.

Released as a concept album in 1969, the stage version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has become one of the world’s most beloved family musicals over the last fifty years.

The creative team includes JoAnn M Hunter (choreography), Morgan Large (set and costume design), Ben Cracknell (lighting) and Gareth Owen (sound).

Connor’s production reportedly grossed £11 million in ticket sales for the 10-week run.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat tickets go on general sale on 27 September 2019.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will run from 2 July 2020 until 6 September 2020 at the London Palladium.
