S Asher Gelman’s steamy New York play Afterglow will return to London following a smash-hit UK premiere at the Southwark Playhouse earlier this year.
Afterglow explores the emotional, intellectual, and physical connections between three men and the broader implications within their relationships.
Containing strong language and nudity, it centres on a married gay couple in an open relationship who invite a third person to share their bed for the night and the ensuing aftermath.
Produced by Adam Roebuck, Aaron Quintana and Justin Coffman, the piece is directed by Tom O’Brien with set & costume design by Libby Todd, lighting design by David Howe, sound design by David Gregory and movement direction by Lee Crowley.
The play will have a limited 5-week run at Waterloo East Theatre from 17 October 2019.
Casting for the show is yet to be announced.
The one-act play premiered at the intimate 69 seat off-broadway Davenport Theater in 2017 where it ran for 14-months, selling 23,0000 seats and grossing over $1million. The UK premiere was seen by over 8,000 people at Southwark Playhouse this summer.
Afterglow runs from 17 October 2019 until 24 November 2019 at Waterloo East Theatre, London
