Cast changes been announced for The Phantom Of The Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London.
Australian musical theatre star Josh Piterman will make his West End debut on 9 September when he assumes the title role in the London production of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.
Piterman’s musical theatre credits include ‘Tony’ in ‘West Side Story‘; ‘Jamie’ in ‘The Last Five Year’”; ‘Edward’ in ‘Blood Brothers’; and ‘Gerry Goffin’ in ‘Beautiful – The Carole King Musical’, all in his native Australia. Josh’s UK theatre credits include playing ‘Corny Collins’ in the UK Tour of ‘Hairspray’.
Also joining the cast from 9 September 2019 will be Britt Lenting (The Voice of Holland, Hairspray UK tour, Legally Blonde UK tour) as ‘Carlotta Giudicelli’ and Richard Woodford (Les Misérables, We Will Rock You, Starlight Express) as ‘Monsieur André’.
Continuing in the show will be Kelly Mathieson as ‘Christine Daaé’, Ross Dawes as ‘Monsieur Firmin’, Jacinta Mulcahy as ‘Madame Giry’, Paul Ettore Tabone as ‘Ubaldo Piangi’, Georgia Ware as ‘Meg Giry’ and Scott Davies as the standby ‘Phantom’.
Danny Whitehead will now play ‘Raoul’ and Bridget Costello will now play the alternate ‘Christine Daaé’.
Now in its 34th year, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh’s production of The Phantom of the Opera is the 2nd longest running musical and 3rd longest running production in London’s West End history.
The Phantom Of The Opera is currently booking until April 2020 at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London.
