Comedian Joe Pasquale will star in a new UK tour of Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em.
Pasquale will play the loveable but accident-prone Frank Spencer alongside Sarah Earnshaw (Wicked) as his long-suffering wife Betty and Susie Blake (Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV, Coronation Street) as his disapproving mother-in-law, Mrs Fisher. The trio return to the production having previously starred in the highly acclaimed sold-out tour in 2018.
The 2020 UK tour will open at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley on Wednesday 26 February 2020 with confirmed dates in Poole, Nottingham, Cheltenham, Blackpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, St Helens, Canterbury, Guildford and Southend.
The comedy is based on the classic 1970s BBC TV comedy Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em by Raymond Allen which starred Michael Crawford and Michele Dotrice.
Joe Pasquale said, “After 30 years in show business, this has been the role of a lifetime for me, so to be bringing it back again, this time to a wider audience, is a dream come true. Alongside Sarah Earnshaw’s brilliant Betty, the Spencers are hitting the road again, bigger and better than ever before… it’s going to be a disaster!”.
The stage adaptation is written and directed by Guy Unsworth with set & costume design by Simon Higlett, lighting design by Matt Haskins, sound design by Ian Horrocks-Taylor and choreography by Jenny Arnold.
