Sue Johnston joins Stephen Mangan in The Man In The White Suit

Sue Johnston will join the Stephen Mangan in the West End premiere of The Man In The White Suit.

The British Comedy Award-winning actress will play ‘Mrs Watson’ from 5th September for three weeks at Theatre Royal Bath prior to nine weeks at the Wyndham’s Theatre from 26th September.

Johnston is best known for her television roles including Barbara Royle in The Royale Family, Dr Grace Foley in the Emmy award winning BBC series Waking the Dead, Eileen in the BBCs heart-warming comedy-drama Being Eileen, crafty Miss Denker in the ITV series Downton Abbey, Gloria in Coronation Street and Sheila Grant in the well loved 90’s soap opera Brookside.

Her stage credits include Peter Gill’s Small Change at the Donmar Warehouse, The Master Builder in the West End directed by Anthony Paige and Kenneth Branagh’s The Play What I Wrote at Wyndham’s Theatre. 

Based on the classic Ealing comedy film starring Alec Guinness this new production has been adapted by Sean Foley, who also directs.  Stephen Mangan will star as Sidney Stratton with Kara Tointon (Mr Selfridge) playing the mill owners daughter Daphne.

The Man In The White Suit is booking from 26 September 2019 until 11 January 2020 at the Wyndham’s Theatre, London.
