Helen George (Call The Midwife, The Three Musketeers) will star in a stage adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s My Cousin Rachel at Theatre Royal Bath this November.
George will play Rachel in du Maurier’s romance mystery which has been adapted for the stage by playwright and best-selling novelist Joseph O’Connor (Star of the Sea, Ghost Light, Shadowplay). The play will be directed by Anthony Banks (The Girl On The Train, Gaslight, After Miss Julie).
Helen George said: “My Cousin Rachel was one of my favourite books when I was growing up, so I’m absolutely thrilled to be playing the wonderfully exotic and complex Rachel. I can’t wait to get my wig on!”
The production will run from 13 to 23 November 2019 at Theatre Royal Bath’s Main House followed by a UK tour.
Daphne du Maurier’s classic novel was most recently adapted for film in 2017 starring Rachel Weisz (The Favourite), Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games) and Iain Glen (Game of Thrones).
Full casting and tour dates to be announced.
