Felicity Kendal will star in William Boyd’s comic play The Argument at Theatre Royal Bath this summer.

Kendal, best known for her role in ’70s tv series The Good Life, returns to Theatre Royal Bath following her acclaimed performances in A Room With a View, Hay Fever and Relatively Speaking.

Boyd’s darkly comic play charts a series of arguments between a married couple, Pip and Meredith, and their immediate family and friends. Kendal will play the role of Meredith’s mother Chloe.

The Argument delves into what it is to dispute with those we love and offers a biting take on human dynamics. This is an often hilarious and compelling exploration of how it is the tone in which words are said which has such potency.

The production will be directed by Christopher Luscombe with creative team and further casting to be announced.

The Argument will run from 7 August 2019 until 24 August 2019 in the main house of Theatre Royal Bath.

It follows on from other production in the venue’s summer season including a revival of Noël Coward’s Blithe Spirit starring Jennifer Saunders and a production of Uncle Vanya, adapted by David Hare.
