Layton Williams and EastEnders‘ Shane Ritchie will lead the UK tour of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
Williams (RENT, Billy Elliot) and Ritchie will play Jamie New and Hugo / Loco Chanelle, reprising their roles from the hit West End production.
Inspired by the documentary ‘Jamie: Drag Queen at 16’, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is a funny, feel-good musical about a boy wanting to express his true self.
The extensive tour opens at the Lyceum Theatre Sheffield on 8 February 2020 playing to 29 February 2020 and will then travel to Edinburgh, Northampton, Birmingham, Canterbury, Newcastle, Brighton, Nottingham, Aberdeen, Llandudno, Southampton, Cardiff, Norwich, Glasgow, Liverpool, Wolverhampton, Leicester, Leeds, Salford and Amsterdam.
Written by Tom MacRae with music by Dan Gillespie-Sells, the tour will be directed by Matt Ryan with set and costume design by Anna Fleischle, choreography by Kate Prince, lighting Lucy Carter, sound by Paul Groothuis, musical supervision by Theo Jamieson and video design by Luke Halls.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is being made into a major film, starring Max Harwood, Richard E. Grant, Sharon Horgan and Sarah Lancashire.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is currently booking in the West End until 25 January 2019 at the Apollo Theatre, London.
