About Hole

Ellie Kendrick livens up her inventive debut play with astrophysics and ancient Greek myth at the Royal Court Theatre.

Inventively staged by Helen Goalen and Abbi Greenland from the award-winning company RashDash, this original and vigorously performed production asks how power is created.

Hole runs from 28 November 2018 until 12 January 2019 at the Royal Court Theatre, London.

“We’re harpies.
We’re a three headed bitch.
We’ve been guarding the gates.
Now we’re throwing them open.”

A hole in the ground. They’re forcing their way out.
They’re singing. They’re moving. And they’re taking up space.

“This is a takeover. We’re taking over.
You came here to look.
We’re giving you something to watch.”

The ensemble cast features Ronkẹ Adékoluẹjo, Ebony Bones, Alison Halstead, Rubyyy Jones, Cassie Layton and Eva Magyar.

Written by Ellie Kendrick. Directed by Abbi Greenland and Helen Goalen with set and costume design by Cécile Trémolières, sound design by Emily Legg and lighting design by Katharine Williams.
