The West End production of Wicked will reach another milestone next month when it becomes the 13 longest-running show in the history of the West End.
If all goes to plan, the show will play its 5,141st performance at the Apollo Victoria Theatre on 8th December 2018, surpassing the run of Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story.
The much-loved production is currently the 5th longest-running musical playing in the West End and has been lauded internationally for its ingenious re-imagining of the Witches of Oz.
The West End cast features Alice Fearn (Elphaba), Sophie Evans (Glinda), David Witts (Fiyero), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Chris Jarman (Doctor Dillamond), Rosa O’Reilly (Nessarose), and Jack Lansbury (Boq).
The production recently announced five extra matinee performances will be added to the show over Christmas and that it is now booking until November 2019. The 2.30pm performances will be on Monday 24 December, Thursday 27 December, Friday 28 December, Sunday 30 December 2018 and Thursday 3 January 2019.
Wicked is booking until 23 May 2020 at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, London.
