Casting has been announced for the world premiere of A Small Place, which opens at the Gate Theatre next month.

Jamaica Kincaid’s searing story of colonial exploitation will star Harry Potter and the Cursed Child alum Nicola Alexis and Cherelle Skeete.

Nicola’s numerous stage credits include the acclaimed production of Clybourne Park (West End), Bacchai and Jitney for the National Theatre, The Merchant of Venice (international tour), To Kill a Mockingbird and Beauty and the Beast for the Elgiva Theatre.

Cherelle was most recently on stage in the UK premiere of Fun Home at the Young Vic. Her other credits include The Phelbotomist (Hamstead Theatre), Marcia in The Seagull and Jack and the Beanstalk (Lyric Hammersmith) and Three Days in the Country and Amen Corner (National Theatre).

Adapted for the stage for the first time, A Small Place is directed by Anna Himali Howard with set design by Camilla Clarke, lighting design by Johanne Jensen and sound design by Munotida Chinyanga.

A Small Place runs from 8 November 2018 until 1 December 2018 at the Gate Theatre, London.
