Gillian Anderson & Lily James, All About Eve

All About Eve with Gillian Anderson & Lily James confirmed for West End run

Gillian Anderson and Lily James will star in All About Eve at London’s Noel Coward Theatre this coming February.

The iconic multi-Oscar winning film has been adapted for the stage and will be directed by Olivier and Tony Award-winner Ivo van Hove.

Emmy Award-winning Gillian Anderson (X-Files, The Fall, A Streetcar Named Desire) will play Margot Channing, famously portrayed by Bette Davis, with Lily James (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Downton Abbey, Baby Driver, Romeo and Juliet) taking on the role of scheming up-start Eve Harington.

BAFTA Award-winner Monica Dolan (Vanity Fair, W1A, A Very English Sex Scandal) will join the cast in the role of Karen, alongside Sheila Reid, best known for playing Madge in ITV series Benidorm, as Birdie and Rhashan Stone (BBC series Killing Eve, Sky Series Delicious) as Lloyd.

The much-acclaimed film, based on Mary Orr’s original play “The Wisdom of Eve”, remains the only film to receive four female acting nominations.

Ivo van Hove’s new adaptation promises a razor-sharp, unsettling exposĂ© of the eternal obsession at the heart of show-business.

Lifting the curtain on a world of jealousy and ambition, this new production, from one of the world’s most innovative theatre directors, asks why our fascination with celebrity, youth and identity never seems to get old.

Further casting to be announced.

Tickets will go on general sale at 10:00am GMT on 28 September 2018.
