Full casting has been confirmed for the West End production of The Inheritance, which begins previews on 21 September at the Noel Coward Theatre, London.
The large ensemble cast includes Hugo Bolton, Robert Boulter, Andrew Burnap, Hubert Burton, John Benjamin Hickey, Paul Hilton, Samuel H. Levine, Syrus Lowe, Michael Marcus, Vanessa Redgrave, Jack Riddiford, Kyle Soller and Michael Walters.
American actors Andrew Burnap, John Benjamin Hickey and Samuel H. Levine are appearing with the permission of UK Equity.
Directed by multi Olivier Award winner Stephen Daldry, Matthew Lopez’s play transfers from the Young Vic Theatre where it received its world premiere earlier this year. The show opened to huge acclaim with critics calling it a modern classic and one of the most important plays for many years.
Spanning generations and many interlinking lives, The Inheritance brilliantly transposes EM Forster’s novel ‘Howards End’ to 21st century New York.
A panoramic account of male gay life, it whirls through marriages, breakups, betrayals, highs and lows, but also looks back to closeted existences and the threats – social, physical and psychological – visited by Aids.
The play is presented in two parts, which can be seen either in one day or across two evenings.
