Tameka Empson will return to the stage this Christmas in Hackney Empire’s 20th-anniversary pantomime production of Aladdin.
Empson who currently plays Kim Fox-Hubbard in the long-running BBC soap EastEnders will play the role of Empress alongside Olivier Award winner Clive Rowe, who once again returns to the Empire as the Dame.
Prior to her run in EastEnders Tameka was a regular fixture on the Empire stage including pantomime productions of Aladdin, Cinderella, Dick Whittington and Mother Goose. She also co-wrote and co-starred in the GeeStore and The Kat and Tameka Show.
Tameka Empson said: “I am so excited to be performing in Hackney Empire’s Aladdin pantomime this Christmas. After a gap of nine years from doing panto from 2004 to 2009 at the Empire, I’m looking forward to rejoining the creative team, cast, and crew and having fun”
The much-loved production is written and directed by Susie McKenna and composed by Steven Edis.
