Little Shop of Horrors musical: first look inside rehearsals

Rehearsal images have been released offering a first glimpse of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s upcoming production of Little Shop of Horrors.

Marc Antolin and Death in Paradise’s Jemima Rooper play Seymour and Audrey in the classic rock horror musical with Forbes Masson in the role of East Side florist Mr Mushnik.

Former Busted singer Matt Willis takes the role of sadistic dentist Orin with U.S drag queen Vicky Vox playing the plant, Audrey II.

Little Shop of Horrors is based on the low-budget 1960s black and white film of the same name and is about a mildly-meek shop assistant who raises a flesh-eating plant, with the hope of getting ‘the girl’.

First premiering off-Broadway in 1982, it’s written and composed by multi-award winning theatre greats Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.

This production is directed by Maria Aberg with design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Lizzi Gee, musical supervision by Tom Deering, lighting by Howard Hudson and sound by Nick Lidster for Autograph.
