Rebecca McKinnis and Lee Ross will join the cast of West End musical Everbody’s Talking About Jamie from 16 July 2018.
McKinnis will move from understudy to lead role of Jamie’s mum Margaret New with Lee Ross to play drag artist Hugo.
Rebecca’s West End credits include Christina in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (Playhouse Theatre), Tina Ruston in A Small Family Business (National Theatre), Viva Forever! (Piccadilly Theatre) and Mamma Mia! (Novello Theatre).
Lee Ross is best known for his film work including Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Locke and Containment. His theatre work has mainly been for the Royal Court where he originated leading roles for Joe Penhall, David Eldridge, Kevin Hood and Simon Stephens.
Continuing in the lead cast are John McCrea as Jamie, Shobna Gulati as Margaret’s best friend Ray, Tamsin Carroll as Jamie’s teacher Miss Hedge, Lucie Shorthouse as Jamie’s best friend Pritti Pasha.
