Jane Austen’s Persuasion to tour UK

A new stage adaption of Jane Austen’s final novel Persuasion will tour the UK later this year.

Theatre6’s production of Jane Austen’s PERSUASION, adapted by The Lost Boys scribe Stephanie Dale, will feature original music by Maria Haïk Escudero to be played live by a company of actor-musicians.

Persuasion follows a young woman swept off her feet by a dashing yet poor naval officer, whose marriage proposal she rejects due to the constraints of her society-obsessed family. Several years later a chance encounter leads her back to her true love. But will she choose the love or family and be forever alone?

Starring Ceri-Lyn Cissone as Persuasion’s heroine and protagonist, Anne. Ceri-Lyn received high praise for her performance in The Merry Wives of Windsor (Shakespeare’s Globe, & New York) and recently played the hilarious and transformative female lead, Janet, in ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ across Europe.

The cast also includes Matthew Atkins, Siobhán Gerrard, Indigo Griffiths, Jason Ryall and Lucinda Turner.

The show is directed by Kate McGregor and produced by Theatre6 and Catherine Schreiber.

Jane Austen’s Persuasion opens on 10 September 2018 at Theatre Royal Winchester and will travel to Poole, Chesterfield, Liverpool and Doncaster.
