Sandra Dickinson and Jonathan Chambers will star in the European premiere of The Unbuilt City at the Kings Head Theatre.
Keith Bunin’s play opened to rave reviews at its world premiere, presented by New York Stage And Film Vassar in The Powerhouse Season summer 2015.
The show follows Jonah, a young man who tries to persuade Claudia, an elderly lady, to sell her famously secret art collection to a university archive. Intead she turns the tables and reveals to him a series of mysteries about the nature of love, legacy and the untold history of the city.
Dickinson was most recently on stage in the West End production of I Love Lucy at the Arts Theatre.
She is probably best known for the cult sci-fi TV series The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, though those with long memories might recognised her from the 1970s Birds Eye Beef Burger ads.
Sandra’s numerous stage and screen credits include West End shows Singin’ In The Rain, A Streetcar Named Desire, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Not About Nightingales, Steven Spielberg’s 2018 release Ready Player One, Supergirl and Superman III.
Jonathan Chambers theatre credits include Doubt, A Parable and Danny and the Deep Blue Sea both for Southwark Playhouse, Macbeth and The Lighting Child for Shakespeare’s Globe, Jeremy Corbyn, The Motorcycle Diaries (Waterloo East) and Make and Model (Bush Theatre).
