Refugee play The Jungle transfers to West End

The Young Vic and National Theatre co-production of Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson’s The Jungle will transfer to the Playhouse Theatre in June 2018.

Directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin, The Jungle debuted to critical acclaim at The Young Vic last year, selling-out the South London theatre’s limited run.

Set in France’s Calais camp, at one point Europe’s largest un-official refugee camp, the show tells stories of loss, fear, community and hope.

Miriam Buether’s in-the-round design will be re-imagined in the Playhouse Theatre; the Stalls will be reconfigured into the Afghan café in the Calais camp, with audience members invited to sit at benches and tables.

And the Dress Circle, which will give a unique view over the camp renamed the ‘Cliffs of Dover’.

The Jungle is booking from 16 June 2018 until 3 November 2018 at the Playhouse Theatre.
