Jeremy Irons stars in Long Day’s Journey Into Night at the Wyndham’s Theatre
Multi- award winner Jeremy Irons is an acclaimed actor whose distinguished career spans theatre, film, television and voice acting.
Jeremy is one a few actors to have won the illustrious ’Triple Crown of Acting’ – an Oscar, Tony and Emmy award, he has also won a Golden Globe award.
He is probably best known for his break-out role in the ITV adaptation of Brideshead Revisited, psychological thriller Dead Ringers and for voicing the role of ‘Scar’ in Disney’s multi-award winning animated film Disney’s The Lion King.
A graduate of Bristol Old Vic, he has performed in numerous West End productions including The Winter’s Tale, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, The Taming of the Shrew, Godspell, Richard II, and Embers.
In 1984 he made his Broadway debut in The Real Thing, opposite Glen Close, winning the Tony Award for Best Actor.
Jeremey’s numerous film roles include The French Lieutenant’s Woman, Moonlighting, Betrayal, The Mission, Reversal of Fortune, Dead Ringers, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Lolita, Kingdom of Heaven, Being Julia and Assassin’s Creed. He also plays Alfred Pennyworth in the DC Extended Universe franchise, featuring in the films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League and The Batman.
His notable television roles include Brideshead Revisited, his Emmy and Golden Globe award winning performance in historical miniseries Elizabeth I alongside Helen Mirren and more recently playing Pope Alexander VI in the Showtime historical series The Borgias.
