Bob Dylan and Conor McPherson’s acclaimed production of Girl From The North Country will transfer to the West End’s Noel Coward Theatre later this year.
Featuring Bob Dylan’s iconic songbook with book and direction by Conor McPherson, Girl From The North Country has been a commercial and critical success at London’s Old Vic Theatre.
Set in Dylan’s hometown of Duluth, Minnesota, its 1934 and the Great Depression cuts a swathe across America. In a small guest house, a community lives on a knife-edge, this is a show full of hope, heartbreak and soul.
With new orchestration by Simon Hale, Dylans classic songs reinforce the mood of desperation and yearning that characterised America in the Depression era.
Conor McPherson said “Working with this stunning cast and the incredible music of Bob Dylan at The Old Vic has been an amazing pleasure and privilege. I’m delighted that audiences will continue to have the opportunity to enjoy our show as we move into the West End.”
Casting is to be announced.
Girl From The North Country will run from 29 December 2017 until 31 March 2018 at the Noel Coward Theatre.
