Images have been released of Natalie Dormer & David Oakes rehearsing Venus In Fur.
The Game of Thrones actress and The Borgias’ David Oakes star in the West End premiere of David Ives’ critically acclaimed play which opens at the Theatre Royal Haymarket next month.
Directed by Patrick Marber, the play is an intoxicating dark comedy of desire, fantasy and the innate love of fur.
Dormer plays Vanda, an actress intent on starring in a new play. Turning up unannounced at the rehearsal studio, the director, played by Oakes, immediately dismisses her, but it’s only a matter of time before we find out who’s really in control.
Best known for playing savvy Queen Margaery Tyrell in Game Of Thrones, her other notable roles include rebel Cressida in The Hunger Games and Lady Worsley in The Scandalous Lady W. Dormer was last on stage 5 years ago in Patrick Marber’s play After Miss Julie at the Young Vic.
Venus in Fur will run from 6 October 2017 until 9 December 2017 at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
