The Play That Goes Wrong celebrates 3rd West End Birthday

Award winning slapstick comedy The Play That Goes Wrong celebrates its third West End birthday today with the release of a new booking period.

The box office hit is now booking until 30 September 2018 at the Duchess Theatre in London’s West End.

As it heads into its fourth year, the remarkable rags-to-riches story shows no signs of slowing down for a play which started its life above the Kings Head withonly four paying customers at the first performance.

Since then, it has played to an audience of over a million, won the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy and a Tony Award for the Broadway transfer. In the Autumn it will be playing simultaneously in 12 countries, with a UK tour scheduled for early 2018.

The current West End cast features Jack Baldwin, Leonard Cook, Katy Daghorn, Fred Gray, George Haynes, Daniel Poyser, Lindsey Scott and Sydney K Smith.

With Tom Babbage, Jamie Birkett, Sean Carey and Beth Lilly completing the company.

The Play That Goes Wrong began as an improvised comedy group by graduates of The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in 2008. Their company Mischief Theatre has built on the success of The Play That Goes Wrong with The Comedy About A Bank Robbery now playing at the Criterion Theatre and the seasonal show Peter Pan Goes Wrong.
