The Park Theatre will present Neil Anthony Docking’s acclaimed production of The Revlon Girl in September.
Docking’s new play is a poignant and heart-breaking drama which explores a terrible episode in Welsh history and tell a story of courage, hope and humour.
Set 8 months following the death of 116 children during the Aberfan Disaster of 1966, The Revlon Girl tells the real life story of a group of bereaved mothers who gather each week to talk, cry and laugh without feeling guilty.
At one of the meetings they confide how they had forgotten about themselves and were too afraid of being judged as frivolous to do anything about it. So together and in secret they arrange for a Revlon representative to come and give them beauty tips.
The cast includes Zoë Harrison, Bethan Thomas, Michelle McTernan, Antonia Kinlay and Charlotte Gray.
The production follows a highly successful Edinburgh Festival run and a sell-out tour across Wales in 2016.
The Revlon Girl will run from 19 September 2017 until 14 October 2017 at the Park Theatre.
