Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures have announced casting and dates for the upcoming North American tour of The Red Shoes.
The Olivier Award winning production will receive its American debut on 15 September 2017 at the Ahmanson Theatre, Los Angeles and continue to the Kennedy Center, Washington DC (10-15 Oct 2017); Blumenthal Performing Arts, Charlotte (17 – 22 Oct 2017) and New York City Center (26 Oct – 5 Nov 2017).
An intoxicating drama where life imitates art with fateful consequences, The Red Shoes is based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale and the iconic film by Powell and Pressburger starring Moira Shearer.
New Adventures leading lady, Ashley Shaw, Cordelia Braithwaite and New York City Ballet star Sara Mearns will play the role of “Victoria Page”.
The princpal cast will also feature Sam Archer, Dominic North, Marcelo Gomes, Michela Meazza, Nicole Kabera, Liam Mower, Danny Reubens and Will Bozier.
Also in the cast are Steph Billers, Jackson Fisch, Joshua Harriette, Daisy May Kemp, Phil King , Dominic Lamb, Katrina Lyndon, Kate Lyons, Andrew Monaghan, Joe Walkling, Katie Webb and Seren Williams.
The North American tour dates will be supported with a program of workshops; curtain raisers and masterclasses for young people and emerging artists led by Re:Bourne, the charitable arm of New Adventures.
The UK Tour of The Red Shoes plays final dates in Manchester (11-15 July 2017) and Birmingham (19-22 July 2017).
