In pictures: Romola Garai & Emma Cunnife in Queen Anne

Romola Garai & Emma Cunnife get into character for the upcoming RSC production of Queen Anne.

Atonement actress Romola Garai will play Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough, childhood friend and confidante of Emma Cunnife’s Queen Anne.

Written by Helen Edmundson, this new play explores the life of one of England’s little-known sovereigns and her intensely personal relationship with the Duchess of Marlborough.

Set in 1702, and with England on the verge of war, Anne must decide where her allegiances lie, and whether to sacrifice her closest relationships for the sake of the country
