Now that Broadway dates for J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child have been announced, the hot question on everyone’s lips is ‘Will Jamie Parker & Noma Dumezweni transfer?’
The Olivier Award winning duo (as well as Anthony Boyle) would surely jump at the chance for the bright lights of the Big White Way and the likely Tony Award nomination but its certainly not a given.
One issue which might scupper a trip across the pond is both actors have children whom they might not want to leave in the UK or take to the US; Dumezweni recently commented on the difficulty actors with children face working in the theatre.
The current London production will see a major cast change at the end of this month which would give both actors plenty of time to recharge and work on other projects prior to rehearsals which would start early next year.
Given the high profile, there must be a gazillion leading actors and actresses back-stabbing each other for the coveted roles.
Full casting will be announced soon.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will officially on 22 April 2018 at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre.
