Casting announced for The Country Girls and The House They Grew Up In at Chichester

Casting has been announced for Chichester Festival Theatre productions of The House They Grew Up In and The Country Girls
Samantha Spiro and Daniel Ryan will star as co-dependent siblings in Deborah Bruce’s new play The House They Grew Up In. A tender, dark and funny look at a co-dependent relationship, and how they cope when the world burst in on the, The House They Grew up in explores how, in an age of anxiety, we live alongside those different to us.Samantha Spiro’s numerous theatre credits include Di and Viv and Rose (Vaudeville), Chicken Soup with Barley (Royal Court), Hello, Dolly! (Regent’s Park) and Funny Girl (Chichester)

Daniel Ryan makes his Chichester debut; his many television series includeMount Pleasant, Home Fires and Doc Martin, and theatre includes Inadmissible Evidence (Donmar Warehouse), Posh (Royal Court) and Gethsemane (National Theatre).

Grace Molony and Genevieve Hulme-Beaman will star as best friends Kate and Baba in Edna O’Brien’s The Country Girls. Adapted by O’Brien from her controversial book which was banned in 1960 Ireland,  the play is set in 1950s rural Ireland and follows Kate and Baba who long to escape their traditional families and convent school.The company also features Romayne Andrews,  Rachel Atkins, Tom Canton, Chris Garner, Colm Gormley, Melanie McHugh, Keshini Misha, Bailey Patrick, Valery Schatz (Mr Gentleman) and Jade Yourell.

The House They Grew Up In runs from 14 July 2017 until 5 August 2017 at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester. The Country Girls runs from 9 June 2017 until 8 July 2017.
