West End transfer for gay musical Yank!

Following its European premiere at the Hope Mill Theatre, YANK! will transfer to the Charing Cross Theatre in London’s West End.

Based on the true, hidden history of gay soldiers during World War II, Yank! is a heart-rendering musical that explores what it means to be a man, and what it is to fall in love and struggle.

The musical recently opened to rave reviews in Manchester with the Guardian calling it ‘exceptional‘ and gay magazine Attitude describing it as ‘sensational‘.

Directed by James Barker, the show has book and lyrics by American writer David Zellnik with a musical score paying homage to the timeless music of the 1940s by his brother Joseph Zellnik.
