Cameron Mackintosh has announced the principal cast for the forthcoming UK tour of Miss Saigon.
Philippine musical theatre star Red Concepcion will play The Engineer, with Sooha Kim playing Kim, Ashley Gilmour playing Chris, Zoë Doano playing Ellen and Gerald Santos playing Thuy.
Red Concepcion’s many theatre credits in his native Philippines include the award winning performance as Adam/Felicia in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Tommy in The Normal Heart and Alan Strang in Equus as well as the musicals West Side Story and Hairspray.
Sooha Kim previously covered the role of Kim in the recent West End production and has since played the role in the Japanese tour. Ashely Gilmour most recently played Link Larkin in the national tour of Curve’s Hairspray, he previously appeared in the West End run of Miss Saigon.
Zoë Doano most recently starred in Death Takes a Holiday at the Charing Cross Theatre. He numerous West End theatre credits include Cosette in Les Misérables and Johanna in Sweeney Todd.
The UK tour of Boublil and Schönberg’s legendary musical Miss Saigon opens at Leicester Curve Theatre (1 July – 22 Jul 2017) and will play dates in Birmingham, Dublin, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Southampton, Manchester, Bristol, Plymouth and conclude on 5 September 2017 in Norwich.
