Casting has been announced for Nuclear War, which premieres at the Royal Court next month.
Maureen Beattie (Yerma, Doctor Who), Sharon Duncan-Brewster (A Streetcar Named Desire, EastEnders), Gerrome Miller (Something Inside So Strong), Beatrice Scirocchi (Home) and Andrew Sheridan (No Offence, Peaky Blinders) have been cast in Simon Stephens’ new play Nuclear War.
Directed by Imogen Knight, the play is described as an alternative theatrical experience about a woman, a city, desire and time.
Stephens has written the play with the intention that the words be interpreted and re-imageind through a highly theatrical and choreographic lens. Of the plays text, he states that ‘All of these words may be spoken by the performers but none of them need to be.’
The production has design by Chloe Lamford, lighting by Lee Curran, sound by Peter Rice and composition by Elizabeth Bernholz.
Nuclear War runs from 19 April 2017 until 6 May 2017 at the Royal Court Theatre.
