Casting has been announced for Stephen Unwin’s debut play All Our Children, which premieres at Jermyn Street Theatre in May.
The cast features Edward Franklin (Hay Fever, Being Human), Rebecca Johnson (The Trip), Lucy Speed (National Treasure, Call the Midwife), Colin Tierney (The Father) and David Yelland (The Winter’s Tale).
Unwin’s gripping new play probes one of the darkest episodes in recent history. Set in Nazi Germany, 1941, All Out Children examines a brutal system which sanctioned mass murder of disabled children, or what the Nazis called ‘lives unworthy of life’.
Stephen Unwin said “How do we value those who are not productive; how do we support those who can’t support themselves; how do we protect the most vulnerable? The challenges that the disabled face today are, thankfully, a long way from the horrors of Nazi Germany, but some of the philosophical and social questions that it raises are fiercely relevant today.”
