British actor Daniel Radcliffe returns to the Old Vic Theatre in a revival of Samuel Beckett’s Endgame, co-starring Alun Cumming and directed by Richard Jones.

We may have watched the Harry Potter star grow up in front of our eyes, but we shouldn’t be lulled into thinking we know him.

Since completing the final instalment in the series of eight Harry Potter films in 2010, Radcliffe has continued to prove himself a diverse talent.

On stage, he starred in the 50th anniversary production of Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead at the Old Vic (2017), the Donmar’s Broadway production of Privacy (2016); and, he played Billy in Martin McDonagh’s  The Cripple of Inishmaan in London (2013) and on Broadway.

Radcliffe made his theatrical stage debut in a West End production of Peter Shaffer’s psychological thriller Equus (2007). Playing the central character of Alan Strang, a boy who inflicts catastrophic injuries on animals he is caring for, the role was quite a departure from his child star days, especially as it required him to perform naked on stage. Radcliffe took the production to Broadway in 2008 were it was well received.

In 2011, he starred in a 10 month sell-out run of the Broadway musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Radcliffe returned to Broadway in 2018 in the 90-minute comedy play The Lifespan of a Fact at Studio 54 Theatre with Bobby Cannavale, and Cherry Jones.

His recent films include Escape from Pretoria (2019), Beast of Burden (2018), thriller Jungle (2017), comedy-drama Swiss Army Man, heist thriller film Now You See Me 2 and thriller Imperium (all 2016), science fiction fantasy Victor Frankenstein (2015), playing beat poet Allen Ginsberg in the independent film Kill Your Darlings (2013) and the horror film The Woman in Black (2012)

Television includes TBS comedy limited series Miracle Workers, The Gamechangers (BBC telefilm), two seasons of A Young Doctor’s Notebook opposite Jon Hamm (MadMen), Extras and voice work in The Simpsons, Robot Chicken and BoJack Horseman and My Boy Jack
