Broadway’s comedy spoof musical Disaster! comes to London

The outrageous 2016 Broadway musical comedy Disaster! will premiere in London for two glittering West End gala concert charity performances.

Starring its creator, Broadway legend Seth Rudetsky, the show will also feature a cast of West End stars and well-known UK musical theatre performers.

Disaster! is a musical comedy spoof of 1970s disaster movies like The Poseidon Adventure, Earthquake and Airport and is packed with unforgettable 70s dancefloor hits including I Will Survive, Knock On Wood, Hooked On A Feeling, Sky High, I Am Woman and Hot Stuff.

The production debuted at the Triad Theatre in 2012 before a run Off Broadway in 2013 and opened on Broadway in 2016 starring Roger Bart (The Producers, Trumbo), Adam Pascal (Rent, Memphis) and Seth Rudetsky.

Rudetsky said of the announcement: “This show is a culmination of everything I love and hope British people love: 1970’s songs, comedy and terrifying disasters. When I was a kid in the 70’s, I wanted to grow up and be a weatherman because I was obsessed with disaster movies….not the death parts, but the exciting parts! Tidal waves, earthquakes, fires, rats…so great! Naturally, my co-writer and I had to put ALL of those disasters in the show. And we love those signature characters in the 70s disaster movies, so we put them in the show as well…”

The performances will raise fund for The Make a Difference Trust. Disaster! will take place on 20 November 2016 at Charing Cross Theatre.
