A new rock musical based on Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell album is to open at the London Coliseum in summer 2017.
Composed by Steinman and directed by Obie Award-winning director Jay Scheib, the new stage production has been in development for several years and is billed as Jim Steinman’s Bat of Hell – The Musical.
The show will use songs from the three albums Steinman created with singer Meat Loaf including Dead Ringer For Love, It’s All Coming Back to Me Now, Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad and You Took the Words Right Outta My Mouth and Bat Out of Hell.
The rock musical is described as a “romantic adventure about rebellious youth and passionate love against the backdrop of a post-cataclysmic city. Following Strat, who has fallen in love with the daughter of the despotic Falco, this new musical is a high-octane rock‘n’roll adventure that tears through over 20 of Steinman songs”
Bat Out of Hell will open at the Manchester Opera House from 17 February 2017 and then transfer to the West End
